About the Instrument
KOOS-PS was developed by Ewa Roos and colleagues as an OARSI/OMERACT initiative to provide a brief, interval-scaled physical function measure drawn from the longer KOOS instrument.
What It Measures
Physical function limitations in daily living and sport/recreational activities related to knee problems.
Digital Administration
Delivered electronically through the PROMinsight platform as part of a digital patient-reported outcomes workflow.
Scoring / Reporting
Seven items are converted via a published Rasch-based scoring table to a 0–100 physical function score, with higher scores indicating worse function.
Use in Research / Clinical Care / Clinical Trials
Recommended in several national and international guidelines for monitoring physical function around knee arthroplasty and knee osteoarthritis care.
