About the Instrument
HoNOS was developed for the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Research Unit and is one of the most widely used routine outcome measures in mental health services internationally.
What It Measures
Twelve areas covering behavioural problems, impairment, symptoms, and social functioning relevant to people using mental health services.
Digital Administration
Delivered electronically through the PROMinsight platform as part of a digital patient-reported outcomes workflow.
Scoring / Reporting
Each item is rated 0–4 by the clinician; item scores are summed for a total score and can be grouped into four subscales (behaviour, impairment, symptoms, social).
