About the Instrument
Catquest-9SF was developed by Lundström and Pesudovs as a nine-item, Rasch-scaled short form of the original Catquest questionnaire, and is used in several national cataract surgery registries.
What It Measures
Difficulty performing everyday visual tasks (e.g. reading, recognising faces) attributable to cataract.
Digital Administration
Delivered electronically through the PROMinsight platform as part of a digital patient-reported outcomes workflow.
Scoring / Reporting
Item responses are combined using a published Rasch scoring model to give an interval-level self-assessed visual function score.
Use in Research / Clinical Care / Clinical Trials
Included as a recommended outcome measure in the ICHOM cataract standard set and used in national cataract surgery outcome registries.
