Showcasing PROMinsight’s CAT implementation work @IACAT
Attending as part of an Invited Symposium “Applications of CAT across multiple fields using the Concerto platform”, Prof Ecosse Lamoureux recently showcased PROMinsight’s CAT implementation efforts in tertiary eye care at the International Association for Computerized Adaptive Testing (IACAT) conference in Frankfurt, Germany.
Prof Lamoureux spoke about the technical, behavioural, organisational, and operational challenges associated with collecting patient-reported outcomes using CATs and integrating quality of life data with electronic medical records for real-time usage in doctor-patient consultations.
Building on PROMinsight’s pilot project experience at the Singapore National Eye Centre, Prof Lamoureux spoke of future plans to roll out IVI-CAT, RetCATTM and GlauCATTM in refractive error, medical retina and glaucoma clinics in patients undergoing eye injections or surgery in Singapore using an implementation science approach.
Another key focus area for PROMinsight is integration of its Concerto CAT platform with Epic electronic medical record system at the Mass. Eye and Ear Institute glaucoma clinics, which will enable seamless transfer of quality of life data and real-time access to results by patients and doctors.
Discussions between teams at Concerto, Epic, PROMinsight and Mass. Eye & Ear are ongoing to drive this initiative forward.
With delegates from Concerto, PROMinsight, PROMIS and other key groups from all over the world, the IACAT conference was an excellent opportunity for like-minded researchers to exchange ideas and share experiences about health-related CAT application within value-based care models.
